In a surprising twist, Justin Baldoni’s legal team has responded to Blake Lively after her public remarks about the $400 million defamation lawsuit against her.

 

The lawsuit, filed by Baldoni and his publicists, claims that Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, have conspired to harm their reputations and career opportunities by disseminating false accusations of sexual harassment. Following the lawsuit on Thursday, Lively’s attorney told the Daily Mail, “This latest lawsuit from Justin Baldoni, Wayfarer Studios, and its associates is just another chapter in the abuser playbook.”

 

Now, the director of Five Feet Apart, Bryan Freedman, has criticized the Gossip Girl star for her “revoltingly false sexual allegations” in a statement to Deadline. He remarked,

 

“After my clients filed a comprehensive lawsuit filled with nearly 200 pages of undeniable facts and documentary evidence that dismantled their false claims of a smear campaign by presenting doctored communications to the New York Times, Blake and her legal team have only one despicable option left, which is to double down on the revoltingly false sexual allegations against Mr. Baldon.”

 

He went on to say, “It’s absurd that Ms. Lively believes she can publicly tarnish Mr. Baldoni’s reputation in a bid to ruin his future career while also denying him and his team the chance to defend themselves against her claims.”

Freedman emphasized, “Mr. Baldoni never publicly confronted Ms. Lively about her numerous missteps during filming. He addressed all her concerns appropriately, even though he fundamentally disagreed with her. He was dedicated to handling things differently and maintaining peace, as she acknowledged in her own lawsuit.”
